Information about the causes, symptoms, treatment and prevention of panic and anxiety

PANIC ATTACK, ANXIETY ATTACK, WHAT ARE THEY AND HOW CAN I GET RID OF THEM?

Do you suffer with panic attack, anxiety attack disorders?  Have you ever felt any of the following?

-felt like you were having a heart attack and told it was anxiety

-felt like you were losing control

-uncomfortable in places that never used to bother you

-worried obsessively

-disconnected from the world around you

-tightness in your chest and irregular breathing

-dizziness followed by panic

If you answered yes then you could be suffering from a panic attack, anxiety attack. If so you have probably been through the seemingly endless cycle of traditional treatments. They tell you to relax and breathe, or re-live the thing that you are fearful of until it gradually gets better. The first time someone suffers an attack they feel like the world is crashing down around them. After you have an attack, you naturally want to either avoid whatever caused it or medicate yourself into oblivion. The biggest problem with these methods of treatment is they only try to help you after your panic attack, anxiety attack has happened.  It’s like taking an aspirin after you get a headache, it helps eventually but you still have a headache.

The University College London published findings in the journal Science (2007), showing that when people experience extreme panic or anxiety, the activity in their brain moves from the front of their brain to the mid brain. The front of the brain is where decision making and rationalization takes place. The midbrain is where survival mechanisms such as fight or flight originate from. You probably already guessed that panic and anxiety are fight or flight responses. What you need is a method to eliminate this shift in brain activity.

As someone who has a spouse that suffers from panic attack anxiety attack, I have seen how it affects her and how traditional treatments have failed her! Getting back in our car and telling herself that every car on the road isn’t going to turn in front of us does not prevent the anxiety and panic. Telling herself to breathe and try to relax does not prevent it either. Taking the pills that were prescribed for her do not prevent it from happening again. As I said earlier, these methods just try and treat the attack after it has happened. What she, and you, and anybody else suffering needs is a way to cure your panic attack, anxiety attack!
